4. Data collection
The "Report" allows you to alternatively report a mobile service problem apart from the Twitter method. This section requires you to put the date of the problem you report, the mobile operator, signal strength, town, and country. Postcode and additional message are not mandatory to be informed. We do not monitor or keep other data more than what is shown in the "Report". The goal of collecting the above data is to use as an alternative method for the user, in particular, from or live in a rural area. The data will be combining with the data retrieving from Twitter before processing to the analysis and visualisation stages. In the message part of "Report", we will collect the data that you insert into the message textbox to use as further information about the problem.
As the website is hosted on the Wix.com platform, your "Report" and "Contact Us" information will be stored in the Wix.com's data storage and databases. The company (Wix) stores your data on secure servers behind a firewall.
This website also collects statistical information, such as the number of times a particular keyword has been queried, from the search bar within the site from the users' input or query. The stat will not be linked to visitor information and privacy. This will be used only for the purpose of tracking website traffic and improving the site experience.
For information collected or received from third parties. If you register for the services through your account with third-party social networking platform, such as Twitter, we may also retrieve information through Twitter API about the content to which you may provide your personal information, such as general account information, full-name, unique Twitter ID, Tweet language, type of operating system used, Tweet content, Tweet location, and Tweet timestamp. This information will be retained, kept and encrypted in our secure internal system. We filter and use the data that is necessary for our research and study purposes (Tweets, location and time) regarding the objectives and services of this project only and will not link further to any other resources that can disclose your personal identity. Any results from the analysis we produce will be posted and update in the "Project".
Your personal information will not be kept for longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and processed. To the best of our ability, the website's code, software, and contents will be kept as up-to-date as possible to avoid exposure to known security exploits.
